Toronto, December 8, 2016 — As the grand prize winner of the IDELLO contest, École secondaire catholique E.J. Lajeunesse (ESC EJ Lajeunesse) will be the first high school in Ontario to enjoy the creation and development of a collaborative and digital learning space, worth $10,000 CAD, thanks to Groupe Média TFO. The customized makeover will be unveiled in March 2017.
"We're very excited to begin this new type of collaboration with Groupe Média TFO by beginning the design of a new collaborative learning space involving both teachers and learners. We will not only be able to discover and rely on high quality digital resources, but also suggest fun, educational, innovative and different activities that will positively impact our students' engagement."
– Thomas Couvillion, Principal, École secondaire catholique E.J. Lajeunesse
"For Groupe Média TFO, learning is an opportunity to innovate. In order to expand the Francophone space, digital means must be leveraged. With the IDELLO contest, we are proud to contribute to transforming education by providing ESC EJ Lajeunesse and its students a stimulating learning environment that fulfills the needs of digital era learners."
– Julie Caron, Chief Digital Learning Officer, Groupe Média TFO
As a leader in Canada with regards to French-language educational content production and aggregation, Groupe Média TFO renews the digital learning experience through IDELLO, an interactive and rich universe with over 8,500 fun and educational resources: some 400 apps, guides, over 6,500 videos, 300 video series, 100 thematic kits, 60 games, 840 learning tools... An evolving and dynamic digital environment that IDELLO's contest will foster, by going from the virtual world to reality.
ESC EJ Lajeunesse and its teachers will be offered furniture, 5 digital tablets, subscriptions to Bayard Editions, and a premium subscription to the IDELLO platform.
ESC EJ Lajeunesse's new learning space, which will be stimulating, interactive and collaborative, will be designed by a collective of Franco-Ontarian artists, in collaboration with students and teaching personnel. This unique, one-of-a-kind initiative will transform ESC EJ Lajeunesse by calling on students' resourcefulness, ingeniousness, and a little bit of their penchant for ecology, all in a digital learning context.
The IDELLO contest is the first step in a series of educational initiatives to be deployed across Canada. It was opened to all elementary and high schools in Ontario and Quebec (teachers, students, but parents, too), and, through a draw, selected two winning schools out of 2,500 participants.
